Hudson County Community College opens new park

On October 29rh, Hudson County Executive Thomas DeGise cut the ribbon for the official opening of the new Hudson County Community College Culinary Arts Plaza Park just outside 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City. The 18,750-square-foot park, which features plantings, two granite water walls, several seating benches, and tables-and-chairs, was funded in part by a grant from the Hudson County Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Trust Fund. The College’s Foundation has initiated a “Culinary Arts Park Plaza Brick Campaign,” which allows community members to purchase and personalize engraved bricks that will be used to pave a portion of the park. Information on purchasing the bricks are available online at www.hccc.edu/downloads/foundation/FOUNDATION_BUY_BRICK.pdf, or by phoning the Foundation’s offices at (201) 360-4006.
