A North Bergen man was killed when his liquor store was robbed on Wednesday night.
According to Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romanjow, Jitendra Parikh, 64, was shot while working at his Skylark Discount Liquor Store, located on West First Street in Roselle.
Parikh was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he expired a short time later.
No arrests have been made as of Thursday and the Union County Homicide Task Force, as well as the Roselle Police Department’s detective bureau, are continuing to interview witnesses and collect evidence.
The two departments are reviewing video footage captured from nearby surveillance cameras.
“This is another example of senseless violence,” said Romankow. “With each new case investigated by the Task Force, it is thoroughly investigated and those responsible will be relentlessly pursued.”
