Dear Editor:
It has been my honor to serve on the Board of Education for six years. I have been fortunate to have been part of the many positive changes taking place in the Hoboken School District. Among these accomplishments are hiring a new Director of Early Childhood to lead a program that has built an excellent reputation; computerizing and modernizing the Business Office; negotiating a fair settlement with the teachers, clerks and transportation union; hiring a well-regarded educator as the High School Principal; expanding opportunities for School Choice; approving budgets that bring costs down and align financial resources with educational needs; hiring a new Superintendent and Assistant to the Superintendent, true educational leaders.
Those of you who know me know that I have always cared for the children of this community.
Whether it is sports, trips or academics, the people of Hoboken know that “Pupie” will be there. On April 21, I am asking for you to be there. I am running for re-election to the Board of Education with Hector Irizarry (2A) and Anthony Oland (6A). I need you and your friends and family to go to the polls to vote for 2, 3, 6 and to vote Yes on the budget. While others vote no, I am asking you to vote for the team that will bring increased opportunities for all our children.
With warmest regards,
Frank “Pupie” Raia (3A)
