A funeral mass was offered April 7 at Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Sylvester “Sonny” Garrick, 87. He passed away April 2 at Meadowlands Hospital, Secaucus. He was born in Hoboken and was a life long resident. He was a retired security guard for Stevens Institute of Technology. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1943-1946. Surviving are his children, Robert, James and his wife Rena, Monica and her husband Ken, Joanne Falzon and her husband Vincent; his brother Frank Garrick; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Vinnie, Joseph, James, Isabella; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine (Yaccarino). Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
