Our local government has destroyed us financially

Dear Editor:
It’s heartbreaking to think that my wife and I could lose the house we have struggled and worked so hard to buy for our children. Making every sacrifice thinking of their future well being. How can we explain to them in terms that they would understand that we didn’t fail them and that it is our Mayor Sal Vega and our local government who has destroyed us financially. We cannot possibly afford our property tax and our mortgage payment at this time. First they raised our property tax by $2,000 last year and this year we’re going at a rate of an additional $6,000 this year. Where does it stop? How can we make sense of the current tax hike when our schools are doing a poor job, their curriculum is inadequate and it shows when our children perform poorly when taking a national test like the Terra Nova and then our streets have been filled with potholes for a very long time. What’s in it for the residents of West New York? Where does the money go?
Sincerely,

Al Navas
