New Jersey is still awaiting confirmation of seven “probably” swine flu cases, officials said today — and reports said that WNBC-TV claimed last night that five the cases are in North Bergen and Union City. Such reports could not be confirmed this morning. More news later today if we can confirm it.
According to the Associated Press, all seven NJ patients have mild symptoms, none were hospitalized, and they had ALL either traveled to California or Mexico or had contact with a person who did. None of the cases is related to a school.
Meanwhile, the count is up to 91 confirmed cases in the U.S., including one death, according to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.
There are 51 cases in New York, 14 in California, 16 in Texas, and either 1 or 2 in Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, and Ohio.
The hotline for residents concerned about the disease is 1-866-321-9571.
