What’s in the papers this weekend…

Well, we broke a lot of stories last weekend that the other area blogs and papers haven’t caught up on yet, but while they’re doing that, we’ll bring you more news of importance to your town!
In Jersey City, parents are competing to see who can be the earliest to have their kid’s summer activities lined up. In this economy, value is king.
In Hoboken, we note that Business Week magazine said the mile-square city is a great place to start a small business. But how do tiny shops survive with the city’s huge rents? Also, we’ve got the election rundown, more news on the new police chief, and three pages of letters! Since we couldn’t fit every letter, we are putting the rest on this site, so click HERE as of Sunday.
In Secaucus, they’re going to make it harder to become a cop. For one thing, you’re going to have to be able to read, write, and speak English (that wasn’t a requirement before?)
In North Bergen, a recent high school grad is a professional photographer of musicians. Isn’t that how Linda McCartney started?
In Union City, a neighborhood raised money to bury a well-known homeless man. And of course, there’s more on the teacher sex allegations.
There’s so much more, so check out this site or the print editions on Sunday, and give us feedback in the comments section!
