The ballot drawing for the June 9 Hoboken mayoral and council runoff elections was held today at Hoboken City Hall. Candidate Dawn Zimmer drew the top spot, a position her competition Peter Cammarano enjoyed in the first election.
Cammarano added former candidate Beth Mason’s council slate members, Vinnie Addeo and Raul Morales II, to form a three candidate council slate with Cammarano’s lone council candidate in the runoff, Angel Alicea.
Cammarano and those three will now face Zimmer and her council slate of Carol Marsh, Ravi Bhalla, and Dave Mello.
City Clerk Jim Farina said he was unsure of the legal precendent for merging slates, but a representative of the City Clerk’s Office said that Corporation Counsel Steven Kleinman cleared the move and that it was perfectly legal.
Cammarano was not immediately available for comment.
