A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 13 at St. Mary Church, Jersey City, for Sara del Carmen Sotomayor-Velasquez, 79. She passed away May 8 at home. Born in Manta, Ecuador, she lived most of her life in Jersey City. She was a proud Haute Couture Sample Maker, working for clothing lines such as Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blasé, Geoffrey Beene and many more. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was the mother of Carlos Panchana, Estrella Wermann, Frank Molina (J.C.P.D.), Armando Molina, Ana Maria Ciolko and Sarita Esperanza Molina-Porter; the grandmother of Alfonso, Anita, Carlos, Jr., Frank, Jr., Steven, Jr., Samara, Daniel, Tiffany, Nicole, Sarah, Natalie, Isabel, Raquel, Gabriella and Daniela; the special aunt to Lola Perez and Mari Celi; the sister of many siblings, and the great-grandmother of Carlos Armando, Sophia Rae, and Daniel Thomas.
