Independent council candidate not running

Dear Editor:
One of the reasons for writing this letter is to inform the voters from Ward One that I, Jules Carricarte, will not be seeking a council seat in the upcoming November election. Unfortunately, due to some health issues and personal matters, I felt it was the proper decision to make at this present time in my life. However, God willing perhaps next year, I will re-evaluate my situation and reconsider seeking a council seat.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank numerous voters from Ward One. You see, for the past twelve months during my campaign trail, the voters were always courteous and they listened to me carefully when I was expressing my views. This is especially the case with the last 3 elections when I personally worked the voting polls. I would appreciate it if, all the people I talked to and those I know, would consider joining me in supporting the Gonnelli Team in the upcoming November election. Your support is vital, and it is important for us to stand together to take back Secaucus from the present administration.
It is quite obvious, from the recent results in the primary election, that the Secaucus voters would certainly like to see a change. It was evident in the way they voted. Furthermore, not too long ago, there was a successful kick-off rally for the Gonnelli Team. Judging from the turnout, and the reactions from the 500+ people who attended, the future definitely looks bright for the Gonnelli Team.
Perhaps it’s an indication that the Elwell days in office are numbered. In fact, 137 days as of today and counting.
In closing, being a proud Latino, I strongly advise the 3,000 Latino voters that reside in Secaucus to unite. Let there be unity of purpose……together, your vote can, and will, make a difference! “Por Favor, necesitamos un cambio Nuevo en esta ciudad.” As a result, there could finally be peace and purposeful unity in this prestigious community of ours. Certainly, all the Secaucus residents desire, as well as deserve, nothing less.

Respectfully yours,
Jules Carricarte
