Thank you to our heroes

Dear Editor:

On this Independence Day as we celebrate the birth of our nation I would like to recognize the sacrifice, selfless dedication and patriotism of our employees who not only serve our community but also our great country. These individuals enhance the lives of the people they serve throughout Hudson County, and also enhance life through protecting our freedom wherever and whenever necessary.
From the signing of the Declaration of Independence to the present day liberation of Iraq, from Paulus Hook to Bunker Hill, from Gettysburg to Omaha Beach, and from Saigon to Fallujah, those who put on a uniform whether it be EMS or that of our military branches are true heroes in every sense of the word.
As you enjoy the firework displays this weekend, please remember and keep in your thoughts and prayers those who are actively serving in our military, especially these members of the Jersey City Medical Center EMS Department:
Terrance Bryant, Army
John Knapp, Marines
Martha Marchena, Army
Francis Rella, Air National Guard
Gregory Ryan, Marines
Ronald Tyson, Air Force
I would be remiss if I did not also recognize every member of our Emergency Medical Services, volunteer and professional, and those who sacrifice time from their family this holiday weekend providing lifesaving emergency medical services to this community and every community throughout our nation.

Sincerely,
Christopher Rinn
EMS Director
Jersey City Medical Center – Emergency Medical Services
