Funeral services were held July 1 for Jack Cherubini of Union City. He passed away June 27. Born in White Plains, he came to Union City at a young age and lived here the rest of his life. After serving in the US Army in World War II, he returned home and went to work for Union City, serving in the Building Department for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1982 as Chief Building inspector. Active in community affairs, he was past President of the Columbus Democratic Club and the Union City Regular Democratic Club. He was the husband of Olga (nee Mejias), the brother of Mary Mattarazzo and the late Michael, and a devoted father and grandfather. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
