Funeral services were held July 11 for Albert L. Friesendorf, 94. He passed away July 4 at Compassionate Care Hospice at The Atrium, Jersey City. Albert was born, raised and educated in Jersey City, having resided in his present home since 1962. He served under General MacArthur in World War II as a Staff Sergeant in Luzon, Southern Philippines and New Guinea with the 152nd Infantry Company A. Albert enjoyed dancing, playing golf, attending horse races and maintaining his social network at Deli Plus in the Path Plaza at Journal Square. He vacationed and played golf as often as possible at Eddie’s Farm in the Poconos. He was an active supporter and church elder of the 2nd Reformed Church on Summit Avenue in Jersey City. Albert retired from The Lipton Tea Co. in Englewood Cliffs where he worked as a printer. He is survived by his brother Walter Friesendorf, Toms River, and 10 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
