Bayonne Parking Authority attorney files federal suit

Peter Cresci, who was fired as the business administrator for the City of Bayonne last month but retained his post as Bayonne Parking Authority, has filed a federal lawsuit against the Parking Authority — prompting calls for his removal from that position as well.
Cresci filed the lawsuit in federal court on Monday, July 13, but refused to resign from the Parking Authority at the July 14 meeting, despite claims from city officials that his retaining his position posed a conflict of interest.
Cresci is currently representing the Parking Authority in a civil suit brought against the city and the Parking Authority by the Authority’s former executive director.
Mayor Mark Smith was expected to go before the City Council on July 15 to seek council approval to remove Cresci.
