Funeral services took place July 28 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Jersey City, for Catherine Athanas. She passed away July 24 at her residence. Born in the Bronx, Catherine lived most of her life in Jersey City. She was a secretary at Rutgers University in Jersey City and Newark, and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was predeceased by her husband George and two brothers; Peter and William Caldes. Catherine is survived by her son Thomas Athanasakos and his wife Luisa, as well as a sister-in-law, Helen Del Giudice. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
