Dear Editor:
In 54 years as a lifelong resident of Jersey City it saddens me that once again I must write a letter expressing my disappointment and disgust with the political representatives of our great city. Once again I must hear from my friends around the country calling me with all the jokes of Dirty City, NJ. Public service is not an invitation to become rich either through legal or illegal means. Public service is giving of oneself so your neighbors may have a better life for themselves and for future generations. Why must our choices at the ballot box always turn to shame? Today’s arrests are not an end but a beginning of future arrests in this city and the residents of Jersey City will suffer. This city is made up of a great melting pot that is America where the average person wants to live a peaceful and safe life to work, play and raise their children. We cannot keep making the same mistakes in which we elect representatives that betray the public trust.
Sincerely,
Jeff H Kaplowitz
