Another councilperson asks Hoboken Mayor Cammarano to resign

Add another name to the list of politicians in Hoboken asking Mayor Peter Cammarano – out on $100,000 bail after an extortion arrest last week – to resign. Rather than print each press release, we should probably just keep a list. But anyway…
“MARSH CALLS ON CAMMARANO TO RESIGN TODAY
“Hoboken City Councilwoman Carol Marsh called on Peter Cammarano to join Mayor Richard Elwell of Secaucus and resign today. Marsh said, ‘I believe that Mr. Cammarano has lost the public trust and hope that he recognizes the best interests of the residents of Hoboken would be served by his stepping aside so that we can move forward with governing the City’
“Marsh made her first call for Cammarano to resign last week after reading the complaint against him which spelled out serious charges that go to the heart of the integrity of Hoboken government.
“Marsh went on to say, ‘I think it is important that the Council formally call on Mr. Cammarano to resign and I am in the process of drafting a resolution to that effect. I understand and share the outrage that is being expressed by the public. My collegues and I are moving forward as quickly as possible while ensuring that the actions we take are legal, appropriate and in the best interests of the City of Hoboken and its residents.’ ”
