Dear Editor:
For too many years a 10 foot pile of dirt in Liberty Park has blocked one of the most beautiful, awe-inspiring sights in the world. Thousands of people from all over the world must pass by this ugly sight on their way to the Statue of Liberty. Concertgoers, who once enjoyed the sights of the skyline and the passing cruise ships as they listened to the music, have had to move to another site.
The park already has a peaceful memorial – The Grove of Remembrance. The 750 trees honor the victims of 9/11, an appropriate memorial for a “green park”. Let’s remove the hill and stop wasting taxpayers’ money.
Sincerely.
Patricia Guida
