Hope in completing the Police Academy

To the Editor:
I would like to know of police department or deputy/sheriff programs in New Jersey that will sponsor me to go the Police Academy to become a Class Two police officer or deputy.
I’m 53 years old, but in good condition for my age. The cut off age is 35, for a full-time police officer. I couldn’t go to the Police Academy full-time because I had to work two jobs to support my family at a young age. I also did professional wrestling for 20 years.
I became an auxiliary police officer and a corrections officer in the 70s, and I also went to work for Stevens as a campus police officer in the 80s, where I still work as an electrician.
All my law enforcement training was done in house/on the job. That is why I would like to be sponsored by a police or sheriff’s department so my dream could come true. I can work part-time for one of the departments to make a commitment to protect and serve and will work hard to provide the safety people deserve and will be a vital source to the community, especially since I have interacted with so many people over the years from all walks of life throughout my law enforcement, EMS, and wrestling experiences.
