MAZZA, MARY A

A funeral mass will be offered Aug. 13 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City, for Mary A. Mazza. “Marie,” a lifelong resident of Jersey City, passed away Aug.10. She was a lifetime communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City. A Dickinson High School graduate, she worked as a Dictaphone operator until she married. An at-home mom, she raised four children and then was a clerical worker in the financial office of the Pollack Hospital until retirement. She was an active participant of the senior clubs at both Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Aedan’s Church. She was the wife of the late Vito Mazza. She will be remembered by their children, Vito and Kay Mazza, Dr. Robert and Kelly Mazza, Diana and Mark Curtis, and Patricia and John Vlamis; her grandchildren, Vito Mazza IV, Kristen Mazza, Marissa Mazza, Robert Mazza, Zachary Curtis, Catherine Curtis, Mary Vlamis, Christina Vlamis and Julia Mahoney will profoundly miss her; her many nieces and nephews will remember her lovingly. One of seven children, she was born to the late Anna (Lombard) and Joseph Romano. She is survived by her brother, Joseph and sisters-in law, Geraldine and Annabelle. She was predeceased by siblings, Rose Volpe, Frank “Buddy,” John, Blaese, and Gennaro “Jerry.” Services arranged by the Riotto Funeral Home, Jersey City.
