HERLIHY, YOLANDA

A funeral mass mass offered Aug. 10 at St. Herry’s, Bayonne, for Yolanda Herlihy, 85. She passed away July 31. Yolanda was a vibrant woman who enjoyed cooking big meals for her family, completing crossword puzzles, playing “penny poker” with her family, winning at bingo and bowling with her close girlfriends whom she had known for over 50 years. Yolanda lived a majority of her life in Jersey City at the same home purchased by her father in the early 1900s. She worked at the Jersey City Medical Center for over 25 years. During this time, Yolanda also worked as a biller for a trucking outfit and cleaned funeral homes in the evening. After selling the family home occupied by four generations of her family, she moved to Bayonne to be closer to her family. Her legacy continues through her three children, Agnes (Kelly), Elizabeth (Cuesta) and Timothy Herlihy; six grandchildren (Edward, Kerri, Judea, Alejandro, Suzanne and Timothy) and four great-grandchildren (Emily, Amber, Christopher and Nicholas). She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents Quirino and Agnessi DiPillo and her brothers Daniel, Frank, Frankie, and her loving sister Helen. She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, William Westgate and Timothy Herlihy. Services arranged by the Migliaccio Funeral Home, Bayonne.
