Dear Editor:
As a resident of Jersey City, I am very grateful that, at the behest of our locally elected officials, NJ Transit built the long slip pedestrian bridge connecting Jersey City with the Hoboken Train Station. Unfortunately, the LeFrak Corporation has decided to restrict access to the bridge, allowing for its use only between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. during the winter). Considering $6,400,000 of taxpayer dollars were used to construct the bridge, it seems unconscionable that a private developer is able to restrict access to a public pedestrian bridge.
