HOBOKEN ELECTION: Zimmer’s petitions challenged; Differing info on Glatt

A source said today that one of the Hoboken mayoral candidates is challenging Acting Mayor Dawn Zimmer’s petitions to run for office in November, saying her notary public was not in the room when they were signed.
In other campaign news, Municipal Court Judge Kim Glatt has resigned from the Hoboken bench, according to a city official. No reason was given.
Some said Glatt intended to run for mayor, but did not get the petitions signed in time. However, a city official said this afternoon that she did, in fact, get the petitions in – even though the county told us they were not in by 4 p.m. We will post an update when we can reconcile the differing information.
Tonight is a council meeting at Hoboken City Hall at 7 p.m., so with several of the candidates expected to attend (and likely fire barbs in Zimmer’s direction), sparks will fly.
