Soccer tournament benefit for slain JC cop

The Jersey City-based Soccer Learning Center is holding the Dinardo Family Cup this Friday, Sept. 18 at Giants Stadium in Rutherford. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to benefit the DiNardo Children’s Scholarship Fund, named in honor of the late Marc DiNardo, the Jersey City police officer who was killed in a shootout with a gunman on July 16.
Dinardo left behind his widow, Mary, and three children ages 4, 2, and 1.
Tickets are $20 per person and includes entry into three things:
-The DiNardo Family Cup Soccer Tournament at 3:30 p.m. Law enforcement, fire and corrections officers from the North Jersey area will compete in a soccer match.
-Interactive Children’s Zone at 4:30 p.m. where kids partake in soccer activities, and
-The NY Red Bulls vs. New England Revolution pro soccer match at 7:30, with a halftime ceremony for DiNardo Family Cup honorees.
