New instructors featured at UWA Academy

The After School UWA Martial Arts Black Belt Leadership Academy, 250 Broadway, announces that new instructors will teach at the UWA Martial Arts Headquarters.
Traditional Japanese Samurai Sword Training will feature Sensei Lenin Perdomo, a 25 year veteran originally from the Dominican Republic. He is an internationally certified Japanese Judo Black Belt, Miyama Ken-Jutsu Black Belt and National Miyama-Ryu Ju-Jutsu Black Belt instructor. Perdomo will teach the secrets of classical samurai swords on an ongoing basis every Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. All styles and all systems are welcome (brown and black belts only).
Vee Arnis Ju-Jitsu wil feature Sensei George Richie, a certified Vee Arnis Ju-Jitsu instructor. He is an expert at teaching practical stand up Ju-Jitsu, striking and maiming points. The new class will be Thursdays for self-defense and street survival. This class is for teens and adults only, and will run from 8:30 to 9:15 p.m.
In addition to the new classes, Universal Warrior Martial Arts Internationally Certified Grandmaster Dr. Austin Wright Sr. is presently seeking athletes to try out for the U.S. National Martial Arts Team “Alliance” in all styles and all ranks in the state of New Jersey. Wright is preparing for the U.S. Open Regional Martial Arts Tournament on Nov. 21 in Jersey City and is heading to the international “Freedom Games” held in Trelawney, Jamaica in January 2010 (under the direction of Head Coach Dr. Jim Thomas). Try-outs will be ongoing throughout the year. All styles and all systems are welcome. Coaches and organizers are also needed for team support.
