Mason has what it takes to lead Hoboken

I was born in Hoboken, and have lived here for over 11 years. It’s the place where my wife and I met, and are choosing to raise our family. While we all have certainly seen great improvements in town over the years which include:
• New water front parks
• A revitalized Washington Street
• Increasing property values
• New Restaurants
The recent debacle with the city’s budget and finances has shown us that beneath the shiny surface of Hoboken there is serious deception. The problems we confront were long in the making and will not be fixed over night.
• A crumbling infrastructure
• Falling tax revenue
• Skyrocketing municipal budgets
• Financial liability for a recently failing hospital
• Disproportionate tax liability by newer residents
As a successful business owner, I know the only you way to fix problems is to find the right person, with the right skills and training and let them get to work on the problems.
I think that person is Beth Mason. I have carefully looked over all other candidates’ backgrounds and experience I have come to the conclusion that Beth is the right person to lead Hoboken. Her education, success in the business world, and long list of accomplishments and recognition in public service… particularly in the areas of reform and open government make her a smart choice.
The choice is quite clear for me. If I were looking for someone to turn around a failing company I’d choose Beth Mason. Hoboken needs a mayor who can turn this city and point it in the right direction. Beth Mason is that person. I encourage you all to vote for Beth on November 3.
