A memorial service was conducted Oct. 31 for Granville J. McGee, Sr. of Union City. He died Oct. 23. Originally from Brooklyn, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Returning home, he went to college and then to work as Writer/Editor for the King Features Syndicate in New York for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was the father of James Jr. and Elizabeth Cifu; the father-in-law of Renata McGee and Ron Cifu, and the grandfather of Kristina Napolitano, Thomas McGee, Rebeka McGee, Sarah Albrecht and Kurt Albrecht.
