BAYONNE — Gov. Jon Corzine will join Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith and other officials to break ground on the long awaited Bayonne Crossing shopping mall on Oct. 30 at 10:30 a.m.
The mall is located on Route 440 between New Hook Road and East 22nd Street. The mall project is expected to produce 1,200 building trades jobs during the construction phase. When it is completed, the businesses in the mall are expected to employ about 900 people. Bayonne Crossing will generate millions of dollars in personal income and tax revenue for the Bayonne and the region. It will include a Wal-Mart.
