Thank you from Pulaski Parade grand marshal

To the Editor:
I wish to publicly thank and acknowledge everybody who contributed to Bayonne’s successful participation in the 72nd annual Pulaski Day Parade, held on Oct. 4.
I would start with Chairman Richard M. Romelczyk and all the officers and members of the Bayonne General Casimir Pulaski Parade Memorial Committee. Bravo for all the hard work you did leading up to the parade. Thank you for helping me fulfill my duties. I am sure that I must have made a few missteps, but we got through it together. Thanks also to all the past marshals who supported this year’s parade.
I offer a sincere thank you to all of Bayonne’s and Hudson County’s public and elected officials, who helped commemorate General Pulaski’s heroic life and death through either their attendance at the commemorative program or their issuance of celebratory proclamations and citations.
I extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who, in these difficult economic items, placed advertisements in the souvenir journal published by the committee to help defray the costs associated with the parade. God bless you!
Thank you to Matthew Stefanski, president, and all the officers and members of the Polish Cultural Society of Bayonne High School for your enthusiastic membership, as well as for your informative and entertaining display and presentation during the commemorative program at City Hall.
Thank you, also, to my personal marshal’s aides for sharing this happy day with me. And a huge thank you to my wife, Grazyna, my mother, Irena, my family and friends, who gave me their love and encouragement during this stressful, yet wonderful, time.
And let me not forget all those people who actually marched in the parade or who attended the commemorative program.
I apologize for not being able to mention everyone by name, but there are simply too many of you to be listed. Thank you one and all.
It was truly an honor to represent Bayonne and its Polish-American community as the 2009 marshal, an honor which I will treasure forever. I followed in the footsteps of some greatly accomplished individuals, and am flattered to be accounted with them. Thank you again to the committee for recognizing my efforts on behalf of our “Polish cause.” I look forward to supporting next year’s marshal, whoever he or she may be, and I encourage everyone to proudly celebrate and commemorate Polish-American achievements and accomplishments during the 73rd annual Pulaski Day Parade in 2010.
