Thanks to the Hudson County Dept. of Parks

To the Editor:
I wish to acknowledge the Hudson County Department of Parks. The county was instrumental in the success of our first annual Walk in the Park to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Our walk was held Oct. 25 at the Stephen R. Gregg/Bayonne County Park. The location was perfect for our group. Supervisor Major Nance of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department arranged for his officers to meet us at the flagpole on the upper level. They followed our group, assuring that everyone safely completed the walk. The officers were timely, courteous, and managed the crowd in a professional way.
Many of the participants were original Bayonne residents, who have relocated and have not been to our county park in many years. Others were friends, family and business associates who made their first trip to our county park. Everyone was extremely complimentary. They admired the well groomed paths, freshly painted railings, clean rest rooms and over all ambiance of the park. It was wonderful to raise funds and awareness of breast cancer in the name of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc., and share the beauty of our county park as well.
I look forward to a bigger and better “Walk in the Park” in 2010.
