A funeral service took place Oct. 30 at Monumental Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Agnes Bolger. She passed away Oct. 22. She was born to Paul and Mariah Bolger in Charleston, S.C. Agnes worked as a visiting homemaker for more than seven years in Jersey City, retiring in 1997. Agnes then worked in the mail room of the Booker T. Washington Housing Complex, where she resided for many years. Her son and grandchildren remarked that ‘Mother Agnes raised many of her grandchildren and the neighborhood children as well. She inspired, loved and taught children to be the best they could be, which made her a very special lady!’ Surviving to cherish Agnes’ memory are the love of her life Isaac Haynes; her son Anthony Haynes; thirty-four grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends.
