NJ Transit still ‘poised’ to build a huge development at Hoboken’s south border

HOBOKEN — Hoboken resident John Keim sent around a letter Tuesday saying Hoboken still had to be concerned that a New Jersey Senate bill will allow NJ Transit to build in towns without input or approval from those towns.
When Mayor Dawn Zimmer was a mayoral candidate, she said she had met with the bill’s sponsor, Paul Sarlo, and asked him to make sure Hoboken still would have input into the development. But others said that it seemed that Sarlo did not give any guarantees, and that his bill is still moving forward.
Keim writes:

Dear Friends,
We are at ground zero for a nightmare; New Jersey State Senate bill S2972 has reared its ugly head again. Despite a supposition that it was halted, New Jersey Transit is still poised to be allowed to build a way beyond outsized developement on the south end of Hoboken. I personally agree with what this petition says, and I am sure you agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and join me. This is too important to ignore.
Best wishes,
John Stevens Keim
