$60.93 worth of shrimp, antacids, and lip balm

Police were notified of a possible shoplifting at ShopRite, 900 Madison St, on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 1:23 p.m.
At the scene, officers were told by a ShopRite loss prevention employee that a 57-year-old Hoboken woman had allegedly exited the store with a bag of shrimp, three lip balms, and a box of antacids, all of which totaled $60.93.
Catherine Spano was charged with shoplifting, according to Lt. Det. Mark Competello.

Lost engagement ring in NYC, told Hoboken police

A woman left her apartment in Hoboken on Thursday, Nov. 12 for a party in New York City, and on her return home, she noticed that her $24,000 white gold engagement ring was missing.
She reported the missing ring to police in Hoboken, who believe it was lost in New York City. No investigation is expected by police, according to Competello.

Alleged drunk driver crashes

A 21-year-old woman from Bloomfield, N.J. was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 21 after allegedly driving drunk the wrong way down First Street.
Natalie Canas, 21, was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
Competello said Canas allegedly hit another car turning from Hudson Street the wrong way onto First Street, causing significant front end damage to the other car. Her car also sustained damage along the right side.
Police did not report any injuries, but said Canas allegedly failed sobriety tests and blew a .10 on the breathalyzer, above the legal limit of .08.
