Vincent Pastore joins Jersey City-bred comic at Loew’s Theatre for police/fire benefit

JERSEY CITY — Even seen “New Jersey’s Bad Boy of Comedy” in action?
If not, then the opportunity awaits as Jersey City born-and-raised comedian Mike Marino will bring his standup act to the Loew’s Theatre in Jersey City this Saturday at 8 p.m. to benefit the Jersey City Police Foundation and Jersey City Firefighters Distress Fund.
Marino will share the stage with Vincent Pastore from “The Sopranos” and musical guest Mark Byrnes.
Marino, 40, who grew up in the city’s Marion section, has been a professional comic for 15 years but said he has been “clowning around since the age of 2.” He says he is looking forward to performing his comedy, which he describes as “this is how I see life and so should you,” for a good cause in his hometown.
Marino is not just a comic but also a professional dramatic actor who graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Among his credits are soaps and television shows including As the World Turns, One Life to Live, Becker, Party of Five, and Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and feature films including the upcoming Pizza With Bullets, co-starring Pastore.
Does being a longtime performer make him any less nervous about performing at the Loew’s?

No, and not for the reason one thinks.
“I am more nervous about where the people are going to park,” Marino joked. “Tell them to get there early, it is going to be a zoo.”
The Landmark Loew’s Theatre is located at 54 Journal Square. For the show there are two sections of tickets: VIP $35 and General Admission $25. Ages 14 and older admitted.
A VIP After Party will be held at Michael Anthony’s Restaurant at 502 Washington Blvd. Jersey City. Valet Parking, Open Bar and a Reception Menu are included in the VIP Party cost of $75 per person.
Advanced reservations are required. Call (609) 987-8018 or buy online at www.catcharisingstar.com.
