Celebrating “All Saints’ Day”

The Students of Mother Seton Inter Parochial School in Union City, along with their principal, Ms. Mary McErlaine, priests, teachers, family, and school staff participated in their tenth annual “All Saints’ Day Parade”, on Friday, October 30th, 2009. The students from grades kindergarten through 8th grade had been reading and learning about the lives of the saints and dressed as their favorite saint. They remember all the saints on the feast of “All Saints’ Day” November 1st. They performed plays, sang songs, poems, and spoke about the lives of their saint. The celebration continued with an afternoon parade through the Union City Community. Union City residents smiled and waved as the children sang, played instruments and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. They returned later to their classroom and had parties filled with cake, goodie bags of candy, and exciting activities for all to share. Through the past ten years it has become a Mother Seton School tradition enjoyed by many that celebrates life and calls each of us to also become saints someday.
