JERSEY CITY — Former Jersey City council candidate and Housing Authority Commissioner Lori Serrano on Tuesday pleaded not guilty in federal court to charges that she took $10,000 in bribes from government informant Solomon Dwek, according to a published report.
Serrano was one of the 44 people who were arrested on July 23 as part of a federal investigation into public corruption and money laundering.
So far, four people have pleaded not guilty to charges in connection with the investigation, and eight have pleaded guilty.
She plans to contest the charges at a trial. — RK
