A memorial service took place Dec. 7 for Doreen Blaettler. She passed away unexpectedly Dec. 3 at the age of 48. Doreen was born in Jersey City, to the late Francis Blaettler and Ida Blaettler. She was a graduate of Union Hill High School in Union City, and also attended Jersey City State College. Doreen is survived by her brothers, Joe Blaettler and his wife Patricia, Garry Blaettler, and her sister Joanne Calzaretta and her husband Joe. Doreen leaves her beloved friend Heidi Schluter and her extended family of Pembroke. Doreen is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Charles, Sam and Nina Blaettler, Joseph Calzaretta and his wife Rachel, Christopher Calzaretta as well as her great-niece Emily and great-nephew Joseph.
