A funeral liturgy took place Dec. 28 at the Holy Family R.C. Church, Union Beach, in honor of Antoinette Caruso, 82. She passed away suddenly on Dec. 23 at her home. She was a communicant at Holy Family Church, member of Union Beach Senior Club and Holy Family Golden Age Club. Born in Jersey City, she was raised and lived there most of her life until moving to Union Beach in 2001. Antoinette retired in 1999 as an administrative secretary for the Fine Arts and Modern Language Departments at St. Peter’s College in Jersey City. She loved gardening in her flower garden and her trips to Atlantic City. She was predeceased by her parents, Emilio and Emily Minella Baratta; her siblings, Anna and Philip Baratta; and her husband of 46 years, Gaetano in 2003. Antoniette is survived by her sister and best friend Edith Baratta, of Union Beach; her children, Gail Meyer and her husband William, of Hazlet, Guy Caruso and his wife Silvia, of Maplewood, Joseph Caruso, of Union Beach; and her grandchildren, Billy, Gerard and Jason Meyer, Alexis and Emma Caruso. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Services arranged by the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hazlet.
