Dear Editor:
Well! Well! What have we here? Mr. Angel Valentine said on Channel 1 that he is going to bring in a thousand volunteers to clean our Jersey City public schools. Angel must have a magic wand.
Our local community supported Mr. Valentine for the Board of Education and now he is knocking our custodians and food service staff. I hope Mr. Valentine leads the parade of mops and brooms to help the volunteers clean up.
If you think the custodians and food service staff is not doing their job, how about going to some of our schools and tell them they are not doing a good job. See what response you get. The custodial staff, in all our schools, work hard to keep the schools clean and safe.
Mr. Valentine when you are sleeping and are nice and warm and it is snowing out the custodians are out in the freezing cold and wet weather shoveling snow 12 to 14 hours a day, so the schools can be open for the teachers and children.
Mr. Valentine when you see some of the custodial and food service staff, how about giving them a pat on the back instead of saying unacceptable. You may be doing some good. Never bite the hand that feeds you. April is around the corner.
