LISA, CHARLES MICHAEL

Funeral mass took place Jan. 23 at Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Charles Michael Lisa, 92, of Hoboken. He passed away Jan. 20 at the Atrium Assisted Living, Jersey City. Charles served in World War II in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. He took part in the invasion of Okinawa on Easter Sunday, 1945. He was a retired member of the Hoboken Fire Department, joining on June 1, 1950 and retiring on Jan. 1, 1978. He was a member of the Firemen’s Mutual Benevolent Association – FMBA Local 3, International Association of Fire Fighters – IAFF Local 1078, and the Hudson County Retired Police and Fire Fighters Association, where he served as a trustee until 2007. Charles was a charter member of the Hoboken Monte San Giacomo Club. He was a lifelong resident of Hoboken and for the past 31 years he has lived in Church Towers. Charles was predeceased by his wife Florence. Surviving are his sons, Charles M. Jr. and his wife Mary and retired Hoboken Acting Police Chief Robert M. Lisa and his wife Tina, and his granddaughter Jessica Lisa. Charles was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Anthony, and Patrick and his sister Antoinette Lisa. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
