HOBOKEN — What happens when you leave your “reform” brethren and criticize them? You get criticized in return. Sometimes a lot. Sometimes in tandem.
Recently, school board member Maureen Sullivan didn’t like the way the board (including some of her allies from the “Kids First” team) chose its new superintendent. She and an ally of hers, Carrie Gilliard, wrote letters to the Reporter about it. They both announced they were leaving the “Kids First” group.
The pro-Mayor Zimmer forces apparently aren’t too happy that she’s potentially splintering the reform movement with a school board election coming in April. In fact, two local blogs are harshly criticizing Sullivan, including one that complains that she “defriended” the blog’s author on Facebook!
Such drama might make for a reality show…or just the usual Hoboken politics.
