A funeral service took place Feb. 12 at the Englewood Church of God in Christ, Englewood, for Valese H. Brown. She passed away Feb. 8 at the Jersey City Medical Center. She had been employed at St. Mary’s Hospital, Hoboken, as a nurses’ assistant. She was the wife of Edward Brown; mother of McKinley and Bobbie Lee Huggins, Lula Faye Atkinson and the late Richard C. Huggins. She is survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Marshall and Lucy Ann Harris; sister of the late Betty Bryant; mother-in-law of Henry Atkinson and Carolyn Williams, and is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
