Snow day!

Weehawken residents brave the storm

The blizzard on Wednesday may have closed schools and businesses, but Weehawken residents could still be found sliding or shoveling or playing.
Recreation programs were cancelled for the day. Some businesses stayed open and provided a place for residents to pick up necessities or a quick bit to eat. Even Vigneto Wine Shop remained open for those who wanted to grab a bottle to toast the storm.
Steady snow fell throughout the area for most of the day on Wednesday, leaving over a foot in most places.
