UC Zoning official may have lived out of town

According to a published article, a member of the Union City Zoning Board may have been living in Bergen County for the last three years, and if so, should not have been eligible to remain on the board. If he was living elsewhere while he was voting on Union City projects, those projects may have to be re-voted upon.
The Union City Board of Commissioners finally declined to reappoint him last month, according to the mayor’s spokesman, Mark Albiez.
Ralph Lieber, a Union City developer who has sued the Zoning Board in the past, told the Reporter that property records and a private investigation he conducted show that the board member owned and lived in a Hasbrouck Heights home since at least 2007.
However, the board member is registered to vote at a Union City address.
Albiez said last week that Mayor Brian Stack had no comment on the issue at this time.
The situation is likely to get more heated, as a Union City mayor/commission election will be occurring in that town May 11.
