A funeral mass was offered Feb. 22 at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Maria Ferrara. She passed away Feb. 17. Maria was born in Lucca, Italy, the daughter of the late Ada and Dino Martinelli. Coming to America, she lived in Weehawken, Union City, East Windsor and Manahawkin. After graduating from Emerson High School she became a bank officer for the Garden State Bank in Union City. She was the wife of the late Peter W. (Bill) Ferrara; sister of Sergio and his wife Lillian Martinelli, Guido and his wife Patricia Martinelli and the late Ivo Martinelli; sister-in-law of Zelinda Martinelli; aunt of Debra D’Amato, Steven Ferrara, Jane Cipoletto, Maria Kluge, Dean Martinelli, Anna Martinelli, Angelo Strollo, Michele Martinelli Wurst and Marc S. Martinelli. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Houghton Funeral Home, Jersey City.
