Bayonne files countersuit against former business administrator

BAYONNE — The city of Bayonne has filed a counter complaint in federal court against former City Business Administrator Peter Cresci, who also served as counsel for the Bayonne Parking Authority. The suit claims Cresci was overpaid by $200,000, and the city wants the money back.
In the paper filed its suit on Feb. 23, the city claims that Cresci improperly billed the Bayonne Parking Authority for legal services as a private attorney while he was also being paid as a city employee for the same services. The city makes several other claims.
Cresci filed a suit against the city last summer claiming he was illegally terminated as business administrator and as attorney for the Parking Authority.
