Trombetta: thank you, citizens of Secaucus

Dear Editor:
I would like to take this time to announce that after long and careful consideration I have decided not to seek re-election in this year’s Secaucus Board of Education election. My decision was based upon the growing events of my family happening this coming year. Also in this year’s economic climate, much more time and obligation towards my business will be necessary. All this will impact the much needed time necessary to perform the duties of a solid, productive Board member. To undertake a responsibility such as this at half speed would not be fair to the School System or its students.
I have truly enjoyed my tenure on the Board and had the opportunity to work with many fine people. Although I will not sit as a Trustee, I will still remain active as a citizen. I hope to help fulfill my mission of bringing vocational and technical curriculum back to the Secaucus School System. I have always had the passion of providing students who choose not to attend college other options and alternatives. I would like to commend all the teachers, administrators, and entire staff of the Secaucus School District. I have always supported and admired your dedication and work ethic towards the school and students. The camaraderie you people exhibit towards one another would surely be the envy of any school district. I want to acknowledge the Superintendent, Board Secretary and the Trustees for the time and dedication they commit to ensure a quality school system for our children. It has been a pleasure to work with you all, “past and present”. I want to wish all the candidates good luck in their upcoming election. I hope they base their campaign strictly on the issues. I also hope they follow the same ideals I have had. That is, “ALWAYS PUT THE CHILDREN FIRST.” Please don’t let the poison of partisan politics enter the School System. It does not belong there. I want to take this time to thank all the people who elected me to the Board and entrusting me with the well being of your children. I hope I performed to your expectations. It was a gratifying experience that I will never forget, and hopefully I may be fortunate enough to come back again someday. In closing, I would like to thank my wife Cheryl, and my entire family. Being a Board Trustee takes a lot of time away from home. Thanks to their patience, and support over the last three years, I would never have been able to get through it. Once again, Thank You Secaucus for a memorable experience.

Secaucus Board of Ed. Trustee
