Real results what Hoboken needs

Dear Editor:
This Tuesday, April 20, I plan to vote for the Real Results slate of John Forsman (2B), Liz Markevitch (10A), Perry Lin (7A) and Kathleen Tucker (5A) for the Hoboken school board. The Real Results slate has the only candidates who have the same values and goals for our town and the future of our children as I do. Real Results genuinely cares about our students and teachers, and aspires to give every child in Hoboken a quality education, at every grade level. To meet this end, the school board needs to negotiate the contract for and hire a new superintendent, one of the most important jobs of the school board. Real Results will conduct the search for our new superintendent in an open and transparent fashion, making the search understandable and accessible to the public – as it should be.
Real Results is a slate comprised of individuals with business and management experience, whom I am confident will be able to make the tough, but appropriate choices, as to the necessary and needed cuts to the board’s bloated budget. This year, the school board will also be re-negotiating the teachers’ contract. This is a time of a serious economic recession, which is hitting many Hoboken residents hard. We need to be assured that the next board of education will properly and appropriately assess the teachers’ contract and make sure that the teachers are meeting the requirements of our children. Our children deserve only the best education. Real Results will make sure our Hoboken tax dollars are spent on improving the education of our kids, not padding the wallets of overpaid and underperforming administrators.
The fresh new faces and authentic enthusiasm of the Real Results candidates is inspiring. This slate will greatly improve our schools and our town. I ask you to join me in voting for the Real Results slate.
