U.S. Census “March to the Mailbox” event this Saturday in JC

JERSEY CITY — On Saturday, the Philippine American Friendship Committee, Inc. (PAFCOM) will take part locally in a nationwide Census program called “March to the Mailbox” to provide visibility and continue to motivate Filipinos and the greater community to complete their Census forms and mail it back.
PAFCOM will rally a group from Jersey City’s City Hall, 280 Grove St., starting at 11 a.m., then march to the downtown Jersey City post office on Montgomery Street with people who will be mailing back their completed Census questionnaires. Various Census information and giveaways will also be available at the beginning of the event.
Dignitaries expected to attend include representatives from the Office of the Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, the Jersey City Municipal Council, Senator Sandra Cunningham, and Assemblyman Charles Mainor. The event is co-sponsored by the Asian American Federation and has the support of leaders from many Fil-Am organizations, including PACCAL, NaFFAA, Garden State Fil-Am, the Knights of Rizal, and Seniors Club, Inc. – RK
