Reports say suspect arrested in murder of JC couple

JERSEY CITY – According to various news reports, at least one suspect has been arrested in the murders of the Jersey City couple Nia Haqq and Michael Muchioki – however, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office had no comment when contacted this morning and denied that a press conference is being set up for today. Regardless, one news source said that it has information about a suspect and a press conference being planned for this afternoon.
The young couple, who were engaged only five months ago, were killed Easter Sunday morning after an attempted carjacking near their Randolph Avenue home failed and both were each shot twice. Funeral service for Haqq took place in Newark and the funeral for Muchioki is taking place today in Jersey City. – RK
